    Mike Dever founded one of the first ecommerce websites, spree.com, in 1996 and grew it into the 7th most-trafficked ecommerce site before leaving to form Mind Drivers in 2000.
    Mind Drivers is a venture development company that operates the marine.com, sailnet.com, and speedwake.com websites.

    Mr. Dever also co-founded InternetSeer.com and led the company through to its successful sale to Landmark Communications in July 2007. He also serves as the Chairman of Brandywine Asset Management, a hedge fund specializing in non- correlated investment strategies.

    His businesses have been the subject of numerous interviews and articles in publications including: The Wall Street Journal, Barrons, Computer World, Information Week, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Business Journal, Wall Street & Technology, Futures Magazine, Futures & Options World, Forbes Magazine and Fox Television.

    Wages Skyrocketing for Entry-Level IT

    The scarcity of entry-level IT workers is going to send their pay up, according to new research.

    In a recent survey conducted for eWEEK Mid- market sister publication CIO Insight, about 51 percent of mid-market respondents-those with revenues of less than $500 million-reported that it is likely or very likely that a shortage of computer science and information systems graduates will cause entry- level IT salaries to increase by 25 percent or more at their companies in the coming year.

    The shortage is being caused by leaking at both ends of the talent pool: On the entry-level side, research shows a slowdown in people entering the technology industry since the dot-com bubble burst a few years back.
